Buyer Services
an exclusive insiders purchasing opportunity.
With Buyer Services, you will receive a free one-hour, no-obligation consultation with our Buyer Services Representative. You can use this one-hour in any way you choose: review floorplans, ask color questions, discuss solutions for your design problems or make your purchase(s) from the LAMD’s numerous furniture, fabric and accessory showrooms. All with a professional by your side.
If you are looking for that exact to-the-trade item to purchase … and not a room renovation or home redesign … then L.A. Mart Design Center’s Buyer Services Program is for you.
To schedule an appointment, CLICK HERE to complete the online questionnaire. Our Buyer Services Representative will contact you to schedule an appointment. To preview the breadth of resources available to you from LAMDC, CLICK HERE [link to Showrooms Section/Browse hosted by DP] to access our online showroom search tool.
The Buyer Services program is a purchasing service, NOT a design service. The opportunity allows for the procurement of a minimal amount of items in a limited shopping time frame. Room/home design services are not offered. The benefits of the Buyer Services program are access to designer product at the designer net rate plus a nominal mark-up to the Buyer Services Representative for his/her time and service.
Upon completion and submission of the online request form, the Buyer Services Representative will contact you with an initial telephone “meet & greet” at no charge, explaining how the service and fee structure works. You are encouraged to be prepared with information as to the product(s) you wish to purchase, measurements of space, paint/fabric swatches, etc.
Once the criteria for the Buyer Services program is confirmed, you will meet with the Buyer Services Representative at L.A. Mart® Design Center for an on-site consultation at no charge, which includes an hour of shopping for the desired item(s).
Product purchased within the first hour of shopping is at the designer net rate plus a 20% Purchasing Service Fee to the Buyer Services Representative.
Product purchased after the first hour up through the term of the second hour is at the designer net rate plus a 25% Purchasing Service Fee to the Buyer Services Representative.
Should the consultation/shopping period move beyond the term of the second hour, the Buyer Services Program terminates, along with all associated services and benefits. You will have the option to transition to a designer/client relationship and can continue with the Buyer Services Representative as his/her personal design client and in accordance with his/her company’s fees and policies. Or, you may select an alternate from our Designer Portfolios listing.
Is L.A. Mart Design Center open to the public?
LAMDC is a trade building, however anyone interested in home furnishings may visit us to browse our Design Center showrooms. Please note, showrooms do not sell directly to the public.
What does “to-the-trade” mean?
LAMDC showrooms sell only to trade professionals registered with the building. These include interior designers, decorators, architects, builders, specifiers and retail store owners.
Why is LAMDC merchandise only sold to “trade professionals?”
The process of interior design can often be a complex and overwhelming experience for homeowner. Unlike purchasing furniture at retail where consumers are offered limited customization options, sourcing products requiring precise specifications for made-to-order requires the knowledge and expertise of a trained professional. If an error is made in the order, it cannot be returned to the manufacturer. By using the talent and experience of a skilled designer who will help guide you through the selection process you will save time and money by preventing costly mistakes.
How is LAMDC different from a retail design store?
As a wholesale operation, LAMDC showrooms do not have staff or services to accommodate retail traffic. Our showrooms sell products that are custom ordered through design professionals that are tailored to the specific needs of their clients. Designers have longstanding professional relationships with individual showrooms and act as the retail liaison who purchases the product for their client.
